COQUILLE — A man found unresponsive Nov. 15 at the Coos County Jail died from natural causes, according to a press release from the Coos County District Attorney's Office.
Jimmie Rodgers Putman, 62, died from a multitude of health problems including congestive heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure, the release said. Putman was serving a 50-day jail sentence for driving under the influence of intoxicants. Upon review of his medical records and in consultation with Putman's family and after consulting with a forensic pathologist, it was determined an autopsy was not needed, the release said.
There is no evidence of foul play in Putman's death.
