NORTH BEND (AP) — The U.S. Coast Guard rescued three people early Tuesday morning from an overturned fishing vessel near Winchester Bay.

The report came in around midnight and the Coast Guard responded with a helicopter from USCG Group/Air Station North Bend and a motor lifeboat from USCG Station Umpqua River.

The helicopter found the three on the hull of the 38-foot fishing vessel. They were taken to shore by the motor lifeboat in good condition.
