COOS BAY — Southwestern Oregon Community College’s Small Business Development Center is offering a three session training series that focuses on building an effective marketing strategy.
A common mistake small businesses make is to go out and spend lots of money on advertising without first identifying who the customers are and what they are interested in buying, the value proposition.
This series of classes will answer key marketing questions such as: What is the best marketing mix to reach customers? and What does a brand say to customers? In this course participants will learn how to build a marketing plan that gets results and increases sales.
The series will kick off on July 20 with Renting Out Space. The class will focus on the customer relationship arc and how marketing fits into it.
On Aug. 17, the focus is Build Your Brand. Before you can determine where to effectively spend you marking dollars, you must have a clear understanding of both your customers and your value proposition to them.
Finally, on Sept. 21 the class will cover Creating Marketing Campaigns That Work. In this session we will focus on creating campaigns (special emphasis on networking and sales process). Campaigns are where you make money from your marketing and sales efforts.
The presenter for the series is Dr. Sean Harry.
Dr. Harry works with small business owners to help them turn their dreams into reality. He is also known internationally for his work with small business advisors to help them better serve their clients.
Dr. Harry has spent his entire career helping individuals and organizations discover what makes them special and hone their Unique Value Proposition (their “brand”) so they can connect with their perfect clients, build the perfect work team, or find the perfect career. Sean is known internationally for his professional speaking on topics related to starting and growing a small business or medical practice.
