COOS BAY — Please join the Coos Bay Downtown Association in welcoming two new employees, Holly Boardman, as the executive director of CBDA and Karlee Cottrell as the farmers market manager.

Boardman is a local who loves all that Coos Bay has to offer. She graduated in 2001 from Holllins University in Roanoke, Va. Boardman's 7 years as the executive officer for the non-profit Coos County Board of Realtors, and office manager experiences, and working with the public all have prepared her for CBDA where she will assist in the growth and revitalization of downtown Coos Bay, and be a part of the Main Street Program.

Karlee Cottrell was born and raised in Coos Bay and will be invaluable to Coos Bay Farmers Market. She attended Columbia College in Chicago, Ill., graduating in 2013. She recently returned to the area and is passionate about integrating with, and supporting, the community she grew up in. She's also a volunteer with the United Way of Southwestern Oregon.

If you would like to help support Coos Bay Downtown Association projects, there are opportunities for you to get involved. There are openings on the CBDA Board of Directors and on four committees: promotions, design, organization, and economic vitality. All committee meetings are open to the public and we welcome anyone with passion and commitment.

Promotions Committee — The CBDA Promotions Committee meets 7:45 a.m. every Tuesday at So It Goes Coffeehouse; Organization Committee — Committee Chair: Beth Clarkson. Meets at noon on the second Tuesday at Kaffe 101; and the Design Committee — Committee Chair: Doug Woolsey meets at noon the first and third Thursday at the Coos Bay Visitor Center conference room.
