COOS BAY — Southwestern Oregon Community College’s Small Business Development Center training series that focuses on tools to build, repair and maintain a profitable business begins Oct. 19.
The Small Business Management unique format includes nine 3-hour training sessions delivered on the third Thursday, Oct. 19, through June 21, 2018. Each session will feature discussion of a business topic, highlight a participating business and provide guidance in applying specific business tools. Entrepreneurs will focus their priorities for success and create an action plan to reach business goals. The price of this dynamic training is $500.
In addition to the nine sessions of training, each participating business will receive individual business advising with one of the SBDC’s qualified advisors. Participants also receive market research, financial analysis, business books and much more, a $2,500 value. This training series offers an incredible networking opportunity for local business owners.
In the Small Business Management program business owners will learn about: Cash flow management, understanding financial statements, how to manage a business by the numbers, building mobile apps, developing a mobile friendly website, cyber security, social media marketing, and managing their online reputation. A prior participant in this program said, “While taking the SBM classes I was able to increase sales almost 100% and I’m now advertising to hire an employee to help with the increased workload. It’s amazing how much this program improved my business model. I’m excited about the future of my business.”
Registration at www.Bizcenter.org is required to insure seating availability and materials. The course will be held in Coos Bay at the Newmark Center room 207, 1988 Newmark Ave., from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Contact the Southwestern SBDC at 541-888-7026 or email Mary Loiselle at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
