COOS BAY — The City of Coos Bay will be installing a bridge crossing along sixth Avenue, approximately 300 feet south of F Street. Construction is anticipated to span from Oct 9, 2017 to Feb. 15, 2018, from 7 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Traffic along Sixth Avenue will be affected for both light weight and heavy hauling vehicles: Light weight vehicles and buses will have only one lane of traffic south bound for the duration of the project. The north bound traffic will be detoured. Heavy hauling vehicles will not be allowed to utilize the light weight vehicle detour route. All heavy hauling vehicles will be routed along either East Bay Road or Ross Inlet/Sumner Road. The approved detour route will be posted on the Trip Check and ODOT Motor Carrier websites.
There will be a complete closure of the project site for two days between Oct. 18-27. During this complete road closure, all light weight traffic will be detoured along F Street, Ninth Avenue, and H Street.
