These two buffalo, also known as American bison, spend some time at the watering hole on property near Myrtle Point on Sitkum Road recently.
Butch and Linda Willson added three female buffalo to their herd of cattle this summer. Willson originally bought the bison from a ranch in Beaverton. They were to be used for meat but have since turned into more of a novelty item. He said people drive by and stop to take photos of the animals almost daily. The cow buffalos are about two years old. One weighs about 1,000 pounds and the other about 800 pounds.
