COOS BAY — Learn to make Needle-felt Hummingbird Ornaments” with Portland wildlife artist Suzanne Moulton from noon-4:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, at Coos Art Museum. Class is appropriate for ages 10 and up and any skill level is welcome.
In this class each participant will receive their own bird making kit and we will go step by step through the needle-felting process and hand stitch some fabric details to make a cute little hummingbird. Our hummingbird colors for this workshop are inspired by an Oregon native species called Rufous Hummingbirds and their flashy colors are a wonderful reminder of the amazing nature that is right here in our own backyard. We will be working with some sharp tools such as scissors, hand sewing needles and felting needles.
Cost for the class is $50 to CAM members and $60 for non-members or $45 per person for parent-child(ren) registrants. All materials are included plus there will be kit materials available to purchase. Class size will be limited to 12. Register by Dec. 9 online at www.coosart.org or visit Coos Art Museum at 235 Anderson in Downtown Coos Bay.
