COOS BAY — Spiritual care may be more than you think and it's not just for clergy or hospice care volunteers. A Spiritual Care to Hurting Persons workshop will be presented by Chaplain John Sheese 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursday, April 5, at South Coast Hospice & Palliative Care Services located at 1620 Thompson Road, Coos Bay.
Sheese will discuss presence, meeting people where they're at, listening skills, what's an empathic statement, spirituality vs. religion, recognizing spiritual issues around death, dying and bereavement and identifying the needs of those hurting.
Light refreshments will be served. Attendees may being a sack lunch. The workshop is free with limited seating. Donations would be appreciated. RSVP by April 3 at 541-269-2986.
