WINCHESTER BAY — The Coastal Conservation Association South Coast Chapter and Cabela's will sponsor a Salmon Tournament Sept. 23-26 with cash prizes valued at more than $1,200.
The tournament begins at 8 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, and continues until noon Saturday, Sept. 26. The weigh-in station is Winchester Bay Market, on Eighth Street. Harvest tags for Chinook or coho locations 102 and 12. Weigh-in 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 8 a.m.-noon Saturday.
Largest tournament salmon wins $500. Daily prizes for largest salmon, rod and reel valued at $125 and daily junior prizes, tackle valued at $50.
Tickets area available at Turman Teeter Tackle, The Stockade Market and Ace Hardware in Reedsport.
Tournament tickets: $10 to current CCA members, $40 for non-members and $20 for banquet, and $10 for junior tickets (14 and younger). Ten raffle tickets will be included and one will be issued for each weigh-in.
The awards dinner banquet will begin at 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Reedsport Eagles, 510 Greenwood Ave. Tickets are required; singles $55, pairs $100 or table for eight $400. Enjoy prime rib, games and raffles, live and silent auctions and hear about conservation projects. All in attendance will receive a one-year membership to the Coastal Conservation Association.
