FLORENCE — Pianist Rhianna Haines, will be a featured soloist at the Community Chorus of Florence Oregon concert, “Christmas Classics” Dec. 9-10 at the Presbyterian Church of the Siuslaw, 3996 US Highway 101, in Florence. Rhianna grew up on the Oregon Coast and started playing the piano at age 8. She began teaching piano at 15 years old and was the church pianist throughout high school.  Married and with four children, she also teaches piano  to over 25 students out of her home.

In addition to being the accompanist for the Community Chorus, also she plays for the Florence United Methodist Church, Saint Mary, Lady of the Dunes Catholic Church,  and the FloTones.

Rhianna will be playing a medley of “Angels We Have Heard on High/Deck the Halls” arranged by Roger Williams. Because she was unable to locate sheet music, she learned the entire score by ear.

These free concerts, directed by David Aakre, will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, and again at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10. Contributions will be appreciated.
