PORT ORFORD — Do you have a poem that's 30 words or less, or a short story that is 500 words or less, you'd like to contribute to an upcoming book titled "Songs From the Southern Oregon Coast?" The book will be used to tell what a beautiful area we live in, and help boost South Coast tourism?
April is our nation's designated National Poetry Month so the book will be published sometime in April, 2018, in a chapbook or trade paperback titled "Songs From the Southern Oregon Coast." While there is no obligation to purchase the book when printed, the cost to buy the book, from contributors, will be the cost to print plus shipping and handling if necessary. Extra copies will be sold at a retail price, which will be determined by the cost to printing; once printed, the publication will be listed on Amazon, advertised in magazines, etc. to promote tourism in Coos and/or Curry counties.
There will be no judging or contests, however only one poem or short story will be accepted per person; rights to poems and stories will remain with the authors. Deadline to submit is Feb. 15, 2018.
Send your submission: via email to email@example.com or mail to Gary Carter at 41863 Old Mill Road, Port Orford, OR 97465.
