COOS BAY — Thirteen years ago Coos Cycle Supply launched Bikes for Tykes as a fundraising event to benefit local children during Christmas. This year Coos Cycle Supply will host the annual fundraiser 3-11 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, at The Green Spot, 181 Anderson Ave., Coos Bay.

Two bands will provide plenty of live music. Also there will be a beer garden, spaghetti dinner provided by Oregon Coast Culinary Institute, door prizes and a silent auction. Admission is $5 and a new toy. Proceeds from the event will go toward the purchase of 110 bicycles, 30 of which will be mountain bikes, directly from Huffy.

On Sunday, Dec. 15, the annual Toy Run will deliver all the gift items to The Salvation Army, 1155 Flanagan Ave., Coos Bay. Those toys will be distributed to local families just in time for Santa.
