COOS BAY — In a friendly competition, three local chefs will create two different courses using the contents found in an emergency food box for ORCCA's Iron Chef. The event will be held 4-8 p.m. Saturday, April 14, at North Bend Community Center with local brewers onsite offering beverages, live music and raffles. One drink ticket is included with admission along with appetizers prepared by North Bend High School's Bulldog Industries.
ORCCA's Iron Chef event is a benefit to raise awareness and funds for ORCCA programs. As the largest non-profit on the South Coast, ORCCA programs work to mitigate the effects of poverty for our regions most vulnerable individuals. ORCCA's programs feed, house, warm, educate, and advocate for our community members on the South Coast. Last year their programs served over 38,000 individuals.
Currently the silent auction items include: Tuna Fishing Trip for four from Fishin' Trips Charters; a 3-night RV rental from Gib's RV; Bottom fishing trip for two from Chinook Charters; baskets filled with lots of local items and goodies. Many more silent auction items are to come.
All proceeds from this event will go to support ORCCA programs. Admission is $35 per person. Visit www.orcca.us/orcca-iron-chef to get your ticket and check for event updates.
