NORTH BEND — The community is invited to North Bend’s annual Christmas tree lighting and holiday celebration Dec. 13. Festivities begin at the North Bend Community Center at 5:45 p.m. Santa will be arriving at 6 p.m. to help Mayor Rick Wetherell light the Christmas tree and hand out treats to all of the boys and girls.

The City of North Bend will be giving away a boy and girl bicycle this year, thanks to North Bend Sanitation. Children up to the age of 12 will be eligible to win. One girl and one boy will be selected to win after Santa has heard all of the Christmas wishes. The children must be present to win.

The Boys & Girls Club will have crafts available from 6-7 p.m. The Portland Bagel Company will provide coffee and bagel samplings; K-Dock Radio will provide music by Bay Area Teen Idol contestants; and the North Bend Fire Department will give antique fire truck rides around the neighborhood.
