Bandon’s volleyball team has seen its chances to reach the postseason slip with a string of three straight league losses, including setbacks to Myrtle Point on Thursday and Waldport on Tuesday.

Coach Mariah Vierck is encouraging the Tigers to stay positive and finish the season strong with matches against Myrtle Point on Thursday for senior night and next week at Toledo and Reedsport.

“I am hoping to see at least a little momentum in building our communication and trust in each other,” she said. “We need to find a level of comfort in who plays next to who. That really is the missing link we are looking for.”

And with that, Vierck said, the Tigers can find some of the offense the team desperately needs.

Agianst Waldport on Tuesday, Bandon was swept 25-17, 25-14, 25-21.

“We played everyone and tried a few different options,” Vierck said.

Bella Erenfeld had 10 assists and Brittni England seven kills against the Irish. Bandon’s best numbers came on defense with Madison Berry having 17 digs, Olivia McMahon 15 and Ashley Strain 13.

Against Myrtle Point on Thursday, Bandon fell 25-14, 25-19, 25-18.

Naomi Martin had six kills and Kennedy Turner six blocks in the match.

Bandon is 2-5 in league play, two matches behind second place Myrtle Point.
