Bandon’s runners continued their strong season by sweeping the individual titles at the big Woahink Invitational on Saturday near Florence.

Sailor Hutton raced to victory in the girls race, finishing the 5,000-meter course in 18 minutes and 40 seconds, which was 16 seconds faster than Philomath’s Hannah Hernandez.

Meanwhile, in the boys race Josh Snyder and Hunter Hutton were far ahead of the pack again, with Snyder winning this time in 16 minutes and 24 seconds, just ahead of Hutton.

Bandon’s Isaac Hutler was 19th in 17:47 and the Tigers placed fourth as a team, behind champion West Linn, host Siuslaw and Roseburg. Siuslaw is a top Class 4A program and both West Linn and Roseburg are Class 6A teams.

The other Tigers were at Woahink were Aero Franklin, who was 33rd (18:18), Jared Duval in 65th (19:11), Skyler Hammons in 71st (19:34) and Jordan Myrand in 82nd (20:02).

The Saturday meet followed Bandon’s home invitational, held for the first time this year at Sheep Ranch near Whisky Run beach.

Bandon’s boys easily won that meet with 21 points, far ahead of runner-up South Umpqua (59).

Hunter Hutton won in 16:43, followed by Snyder (17:11) and Isaac Cutler (17:59). Aero Franklin was seventh (19:10), Hammons ninth (20:02), Dual 10th (20:20), Sam Cutler 12th (20:33), Marino Santoro 15th (20:56), David Fodrea 17th (21:53), Josh Minkler 24th (22:18), Luke Brown 27th (23:09), Owen Vineyard 29th (23:36), TJ Spamberger 31st (24:03), Nicholas Weaver 38th (27:27), Seth Waterman 40th (28:34) and Devin Macke 43rd (30:09).

Sailor Hutton won the girls race in 19:45. Shelby Waterman was 11th (25:01), Isabella Bean 17th (27:16), Hannah Wayne 21st (29:07), Emily Moore 25th (30:08), Sina Napier 39th (30:59), Kayla La Plante 30th (32:08), Gwen Johnson 31st (32:42) and Isabella Lopez Churchill 34th (33:56).

South Umpqua won the girls team title with Bandon second.

The Tigers compete at the Camp Magruder Tillamook Invitational on Friday.
