Letter to the Editor

For a few months there were major changes in the senior meals (lunch) program. A new company took over and the results were terrible.

Now the prior company is back, it’s still non-profit, and everything is better again. They actually serve things on the menu and it’s all prepared again right there at the Barn’s kitchen. It’s run by Amber, Christina, and volunteers. I volunteered at the Senior Meals program for four years and worked with Amber and Christina and found them to be honest, hard-working, and dedicated.

I know many people avoided the Senior Meals because of the bad changes, but things are looking up again, so please come back. The more the merrier and feel free to volunteer again! Lunch is served Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday at 11:30 a.m. sharp. The cost for seniors and disabled is just $3. Under 60 years are welcome but must pay the full amount of five or six dollars. Many bring containers to take leftovers home.
