Local Fish, Global Tastes cooking workshop in Port Orford 

PORT ORFORD — Southwestern Oregon Community College is offering a cooking workshop, “Local Fish, Global Tastes,” taught by food and travel writer Jennifer Burns Bright.

The workshop is like a mini vacation on foreign shores. We use our local catch to prepare classic and exotic dishes from Asia and the Mediterranean. Class will include recipes and tips for preparing local favorites on the southern Oregon coast, including rockfish and albacore, as we make and share an international seafood dinner.

The workshop is scheduled for 5-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, at the Port Orford Senior Center at 1536 Jackson St.
