BANDON—An unidentified deceased man who was found at Bullards Beach State Park on July 4 has been identified as Donald Laurence Deruchiez, 52.
According to the Coos County Sheriff's Office, Deruchiez was identified using fingerprint technology. The Sheriff's Office did not at first release the man's name or the manner of death until they could locate next of kin. It is believed that Deruchiez was a transient. Foul play is not suspected.
Only one friend has been located to have known Deruchiez, who in the past had been contacted by law enforcement in both Curry and Douglas counties, but was not known to frequent Coos County. Family ties have been tracked to Idaho but any identified family is no longer living.
The Coos County Sheriff’s Office is now requesting any family members of Mr. Deruchiez to contact them at 541-396-2106.
On July 4 at 11:41 a.m. the Coos County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a man on the North Loop Trail of the Horse Camp area of Bullards Beach State Park. The initial report stated the man wasn’t conscious or breathing.
Coos County Sheriff’s Office deputies, Bay Cities Ambulance and Bandon Rural Fire Department responded to the scene.
According to a report from the Sheriff’s Office, deputies confirmed the man was deceased. The man didn’t have any identification on him and deputies couldn’t at the time confirm who he was.
