BANDON — Early Wednesday morning, the Coos County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Response Team was requested by the Bandon Police Department to assist with the apprehension of a fugitive wanted by the U.S. Marshal Service.
Beginning on Tuesday evening, information was developed from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office regarding the location of a bank robbery suspect in the Bandon area. This suspect was being investigated for robberies of banks in Waldport on Dec. 29, 2017, and in Port Orford on Dec. 9, 2017.
The investigation showed Stanley Carl Green, 55, of Yakima, Wash., was camped in a tent at Bullards Beach State Park north of Bandon. The information was regarding a firearm that was used in the robbery in Waldport, so Bandon police requested the assistance of the Coos County Emergency Response Team. Green also had warrants for his arrest from the state of Washington for failure to appear and escape for robbery in Thurston County, Wash.
The emergency response team apprehended the subject without incident. He he was transported to the Coos County Jail and is being held on the fugitive warrants.
The Coos County Emergency Response Team is a multi-agency tactical team made up of members of the Coos County Sheriff’s Office, Coos Bay Police Department, and the North Bend Police Department. The operation was further supported by Oregon State Police and the South Coast Interagency Narcotics Team.
The investigation is ongoing and being led by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. The robbery on Port Orford is being led by the Port Orford Police Department.
