BANDON — Police are appealing to the public for help after someone brazenly shot out a window of Bandon’s police station.

Oregon State Police report that at least one round pierced a  window of police headquarters at 555 U.S. Highway 101. No one was inside at the time.

Police don’t know whether the window was targeted intentionally, but “it’d be a pretty odd by-chance circumstance,” said OSP’s Lt. Gregg Hastings.

A Bandon officer noticed the shot-out window in the afternoon of April 7. Two sources told police shots were fired near the police station late that morning.

OSP troopers recovered evidence at the scene, but they are releasing no information at this time.

Anyone with information regarding the shooting should call Detective John Riddle at 541-888-2677, ext. 232.
