May 28

6:15 a.m., burglar alarm in the 800 block of Oregon Avenue. Employee error.

7:48 a.m., threats on Beach Loop Drive, man at Face Rock viewpoint threatening, wanting to fight. Tan clothes, white van. Handled.

2:17 p.m., hit and run in front of Bandon Coffee Cafe, 365 Second St. S.E. Handled.

5:13 p.m., possible intoxicated man in the area of Harvard Street Apartments, brown raincoat, black pants, yelling at people, stumbling in front of traffic. Checked area, unable to locate.

7:24 p.m., multiple juveniles smoking near the Ocean Crest Elementary School playground Checked area, unable to locate.

9:44 p.m., sexual abuse reported in the 900 block of Ocean Drive, victim of assault in the emergency room at Southern Coos Hospital. Investigation continuing.

12:10 p.m., dog found at Bandon dog park, medium sized male lab mix, no collar, taken by private citizen until owner can be located. Owner returned for dog, reunited.

May 29

10:24 a.m., theft of boat anchor reported by the Port of Bandon.

4:19 p.m., as the result of a traffic stop, Bandon police arrested Bascom P. Shoaf, 51, of Port Orford, on a charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants. Taken to Coos County jail.

4:58 p.m., report of unattended 6-year-old at City Park. Checked area, unable to locate.

9:52 p.m., attempt to locate a possible drunk driver in the area of 11th Street Southeast. Unable to locate.

May 30

12:02 p.m., assisted Coos County Sheriff’s Office in the 65000 block of S. Olive St., Coos Bay.

2:27 p.m., family fight in the 900 block of Grand Avenue Southeast. Person told to leave a residence in the 900 block of Harlem and others to leave the Grand Avenue residence.

4:25 p.m., family dispute in the area of Natalie Way, 17-year-old son is harassing. Parties separated for the night.

May 31

2:42 a.m., Bank of America alarm sounding, alarm company said there is a communication failure with bank, possible power outage. Checked building, all is secure.

8:35 a.m., theft of a check in the 1000 block of Second Street Northeast.

9:49 a.m., person needing assistance is at the police department. Gas voucher issued.

12:48 p.m., received information on possible wanted person in the area of Pioneer Road. Arrested Breanne Kytola, 26, of Port Orford, on multiple Curry County warrants charging contempt of court, identify theft and giving false information, and on Oregon State Police Medford warrant charging possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, and on a Crook County warrant charging failure to appear. 

12 p.m., person at police department referred by church for food voucher. Vouchers issued to person and children.

2:26 p.m., man on cell phone reported a vehicle accident at U.S. Highway 101 and Two Mile Lane, possible entrapment. Driver out of vehicle prior to arrival. Vehicle towed. Assisted by Oregon State Police.

5:39 p.m., request file number for reckless endangering.

8:14 p.m., man called to say he left his disabled green pick-up parked in a parking lot at the Hwy Deli, 13th and Oregon Avenue. Not a hazard, they will pick it up in the morning. He also left a note on the window so the business would not tow it.

9:29 p.m., altercation reported in the at the Bandon School District gym. Juvenile suspects. No crime.

11:02 p.m., alarm sounding at Cascade Wireless, 33 Michigan Ave., S.E. Appears secure.

8:28 p.m., man at Subway, 66 Michigan Ave. S.E. harassing customers. Man detained, advised to contact probation officer.

June 1

10 a.m., Meals on Wheels driver called asking for assistance for a woman in the 1000 block of Second Street Southeast, one of her dogs is attacking another. Assistance rendered prior to officer arrival. Handled by Coos County Sheriff’s Office.

10:55 a.m., suspicious man urinating all over side door of parked vehicle in the 900 block of Second Street Southeast.

10:47 a.m., deceased 77-year-old man in the 87000 block of Beach Loop. Removed by Bandon Chapel. East Coast family contacted.

5:35 p.m., person in the 800 block of First Street Southeast said man changed the locks on her storage unit, has been harassing her by phone all day. Handled.

6:04 p.m., alarm at Cardas Audio, 480 11th St. S.E. General motion, attempting to contact key holders.

6:27 p.m., burglar alarm at Ocean Spray Cranberries, 49864 Highway 101. Workers at location. Handled.

8:57 p.m., assisted Oregon State Police on search in the area of mile post 8.5 on state Highway 42.

9:55 p.m., loud music from neighbors in the 700 block of 10th Street. Neighbors advised on noise ordinance, warned.

9:54 p.m., people in one of the rooms at Driftwood Motel, 460 Highway 101 have dogs, caller wants them removed. They are leaving.

10:06 p.m., two guests refusing to leave Driftwood Motel. All parties asked to leave premises.

10:35 p.m., as the result of a traffic stop, Bandon police arrested Richard R. Zellman III, 31, of Ashland, on a charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants. Taken to Coos County jail.

June 2

1:39 a.m., woman employee from Arcade Tavern, 135 Alabama Ave., called to say a person kicked out of the bar is outside attempting to fight her bosses. Person kicked out of bar, left in taxi.

12:39 p.m., woman on a path on Second Street laying on the ground, barely breathing, naked. Arrested Kristy Y. Ward, 39, of Coos Bay on a charge of disorderly conduct. Taken to Coos County jail.

9:26 p.m. ongoing issue with barking dogs in the 100 block of Fourth Street Southwest. Checked area, quiet on arrival.

June 3

3:13 a.m., woman on cell reporting from Round Lake Drive area that a white pick-up with white canopy is headed southbound at high rate of speed, swerving, possibly intoxicated. Bandon officer stopped vehicle, arrested Kent Harper, 29, of Bandon on a charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants. Towed by North Bend towing. 

7:08 p.m., dog bite reported in the 1100 block of Ninth Street Southeast.

9:01 p.m., vehicle parked with lights on near Hardin Optical on Kehl Road for 2 1/2 hours. Subject tired, taking a nap.

10:03 p.m., employee at Dairy Queen, 20 Ninth St. S.W., reported someone knocked on window, video camera started recording, now states video is off. Checked area, unable to locate. Building secured.

June 4

7:23 a.m., suspicious man on property at the 76 Station, 1355 Oregon Avenue. Long hair, green rain jacket and vinyl pants. Suspect mental, was asked to leave the gas station and the Hwy Deli.

7:28 a.m., unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle in the 200 block of Fifth Street S.E. Occurred during the night. Handled.

7:55 p.m., Bandon Supply, 1120 Fillmore, request help with person trespassing. Suspect mental, left area prior to arrival.

8:54 a.m., woman called on cell, is following a possible drunk driver northbound. Transferred to Oregon State Police. Arrested Robert Ruddy, 65, of Port Orford on a charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants. Taken to Coos County jail.

9:38 a.m., principal called to report unruly juvenile at the high school, 455 Ninth St. S.W. Handled. 

10:26 a.m., mailbox vandalized in the 1000 block of Chicago Avenue on Saturday night. Logged for patrol.

11:04 a.m., woman on cell at 11th Street near football field, looks like man and woman are fighting outside a white SUV. Checked area, unable to locate.

12:28 p.m., enroute to out of control person at the Bandon Liquor Store, 1125 Alabama Ave. Male suspect is mental.

12:39 p.m., man that was previously trespassing in back on property at Hwy Deli acting weird, now behind the business. Harassing clerks, making threats. Arrested Aaron Lowry, 44, no address listed, on charge of second-degree criminal trespassing. Taken to Coos County jail.

1:22 p.m., theft of metal pipe in the 55000 block of Rosa Road. Approximate value is $1,000. Report taken for first-degree theft.

2:20 p.m., wallet found in parking lot of Forget-Me-Knots, 640 Second St. S.E. Message left, owner will pick up.

7:19 p.m., fraud reported in the Beach Loop Drive area.
