BANDON - Art by the Sea Gallery and Studio has relocated and its members invite the community to their grand opening from 2-5 p.m. Saturday, March 10. The new location is next door to The Station Restaurant at 145 Fillmore Ave., S.E., in Old Town Bandon. Refreshments and music by Mark Tierney can be enjoyed by all but the main event is all the art, according to organizers.
Featured artist Dale Karstetter, master wood carver, will be exhibiting his work. Karstetter won the People’s Choice Award last year in the Exploring the Third Dimension show at Art by the Sea Gallery. He specializes in wildlife carvings.
Local non-member artists will be exhibiting art in the community show Bright and Bold, for the Love of Color and will be judged by artist Sharon Leahy who said she is “totally enamored by a dab of color!” Leahy is the Ppesident of the Bay Area Art Association. Awards will be given out at the reception.
Members of the gallery will have a variety of their works displayed throughout the new space that is light and airy. In addition, the new classroom area is more than double the size of the previous space.
A spring schedule for upcoming classes will be available, and those interested can always find more information on the gallery's website or Facebook page to keep up to date on the latest art happenings.
