Several local pool players had high finishes in the Western BCA Regional Tournament in Lincoln City last weekend.
The event is the largest regional tournament in the United States.
In the largest field in the tournament, Rik Couch, who played for Jessie’s Team out of the Silver Dollar, took first place, beating 126 other players. In the process, he beat the second-, third- and fourth-place finishers.
Carol Creager placed third in the novice division.
Tim Fox of the Quarterdeck team in Bandon entered the Masters division and placed high enough to earn the ranking of master, making him only the second master in the local Tioga Pool League.
Competing in a field of 123 teams from Oregon, Washington and Idaho, the Tiny’s team of North Bend finished fourth, earning $1,125. Team members were Mike Richter, John Chaplin, Bobby Charitar and Shawn Kougioulis.
The Silver Dollar team Jessie’s, including Rick Tillett, Randy Baker, Tim Fox and John Weaver, earned $180 by finishing in the fifth/sixth spot.
