Youth Sports: Boys &Girls Club basketball coming soon

Registration for the upcoming basketball season at the Boys & Girls Club of Southwestern Oregon starts on Monday, Nov. 9.
The sport is for boys and girls in grades 3 through 6. The fee is $65 with a current club membership.
Fee reductions are only available through Nov. 13 for those who qualify.
Practices can begin on Nov. 30. The first games will be played on Jan. 16.

Hoop Group
Hoop Group with coach Mike Herbert and the Southwestern Oregon Community College women’s basketball team continues on Monday nights through Nov. 30.
Hoop Group is an open gym for boys and girls in grades 1 through 12 and runs from 6 to 8 p.m. each Monday. The fee is $10 a week or $30 per month. Participants don’t need to be Boys & Girls Club members.
People can sign up at the Boys & Girls Club or at the gym on Mondays.

NBA/WNBA Fit Challenge
The first NBA/WNBA Fit Challenge will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 11, at 1 p.m. at the Boys & Girls Club.
This free event is for boys and girls who will be 8 to 14 years old on Feb. 12, 2010.
The event includes line sprints, jumping rope, speed revolution, wall pass and defensive shuffle. Local winners will be eligible to compete at the regional level.
Proof of age should be provided when registering.
