"Piecing Earth Back Together" on Nov. 6

Friday, October 30, 2009 |
Church Women United will host “Piecing Earth Back Together” at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 355 Oregon Ave., Bandon.
The theme focuses on the environment and how people are called to work together to be good stewards of the gifts of the earth.
Writers Cathy Smith, Kristina Peterson and Anne Griffis urge people to the use and action guide to find ways to support the earth and reduce carbon footprints. One suggestion is to sign the “Piecing Earth Back Together” pledge: “I pledge to reduce, reuse and recycle to make a difference in my use of God’s resources. I will hold myself accountable for cleaner air, water, and land on this earth and encourage others to do the same,” a press release said.
Church Women United was founded in 1941 and works for peace and social justice from a Christian basis, while supporting dialogue with all faith groups.
