Leanna P. Nasby

A funeral service will be held for Leanna P. Nasby, 64, of North Bend, at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, 2009, at Nelson's Bay Area Mortuary, 405 Elrod Ave., Coos Bay. The Rev. Don Berney will officiate. A visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Nelson's Bay Area Mortuary. Interment will be at Ocean View Memory Gardens in Coos Bay.
Leanna was born Sept. 30, 1945, in North Bend. She was raised and educated in Coos Bay, graduating from Marshfield High School in 1963. She was married to Albert Charles "Al" Nasby on Jan. 22, 1966, in Reno, Nev., and they soon made their home in Hauser. From 1975 until 1986, Leanna and Al owned and operated the A&W Restaurant in North Bend.
Leanna was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She always enjoyed the outdoors and she had a great sense of adventure. She loved rafting, camping, shopping and traveling. She always enjoyed the trips she took with her daughter.
She is survived by her husband, Albert "Al" Nasby of North Bend; son, Dean and Shelly Nasby of North Bend; daughter, Debra and Bob Jones of Medford; granddaughter, Devan Nasby of North Bend; brother, Darrell and Janet Hone of North Bend; step-sister, Barbara Peterson of Vernonia; brother-in-law, Russell and Annette Chapek of Austin, Minn.; and a large extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Margaret Hone.
Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson's Bay Area Mortuary, 267-4216.
