I Want to Know
Question: Who is spraying with a helicopter on the hillside off of East Bay Drive and is it legal?
Answer: Lone Rock Timber Company of Roseburg was spraying herbicide with a helicopter in that area Sept. 3-4.
The herbicide kills brush that competes with Douglas fir seedlings, said forester Tuch Koreiva with the Oregon Department of Forestry.
“They are legal,” he said.
Koreiva said these types of operations are taken very seriously and thoroughly reviewed to keep them completely legal.
