As many as 2,000 Charleston-area residents lost power for five hours Sunday, after a car crashed into a utility pole on the Cape Arago Highway.

The Lincoln Town Car was traveling near Tarheel Lane at about 10:30 a.m., when it drifted off the road and crashed into a pole. The driver, Shirley Woods, 76, was hurt and taken to Bay Area Hospital, where she was treated and released, a hospital spokeswoman said.

Workers had to replace the pole, a Pacific Power spokesman said. The spokesman said the estimated time for getting all customers’ power restored was 3:04 p.m.

I hate to be the one to say this again but look at the age in this accident. 76 and driving a battle tank.

At this age our reflexes and mental accuity are not what they are when we are 50.
