What she refers to in this letter is what is known as Comparative Effectiveness Research, supported by such groups as AARP. Comparative Effectiveness Research finds which procedures are most succesful, shares that information with physicians and health agencies, and helps to cut down on the 30 per cent of our insurance dollars that are being wasted on multiple unnecessary tests, thereby making our insurance dollars go further.
In the meantime, the same insurance companies who decide to stop covering a person if they do get sick will also determine what they will cover. The myth propogated by some regarding a future where a government beaurocrat will be standing in between you and your doctor are in denial when it comes to the true reality of the insurance beaurocrats who actually do stand in between you and your doctor now.
Just saying...

I think the money should be used to create projects to put busy little bees to work. That will do more for the health of America. People will have money to pay for insurance & they will be healthier because they are not living a sedimentary lifestyle.
Better yet, people should receive free health care depending on how well they have taken care of themselves. If you smoke like a Coos Bay Car, Pickle yourself in apple wine & sport an enormous blow because of making bad choices in your diet than you should have to pay pay pay. Why should I pay for your poor choices. America is the fattest country in the world & that reflects laziness.
