Don't be misled on swine flu spread

This is deadly serious. The H1N1 is going around like wildfire, right here.

Doctors are not treating this as the emergency the WHO says it is. They aren't testing because of lack of fever. Search H1N1 - no fever. One fourth of known cases are without fever.

I just caught it from my neighbor who is a mechanic at his home. He delivered my car and I drove it. That's all it took. He's spreading it to all of his clients because his doctor that treated him didn't tell him to stay away from others. My nurse said they didn't test for it because there aren't any cases in Oregon!

There have been 219 cases of H1N1 confirmed in Oregon since the beginning of the outbreak. More troubling still, many patients with H1N1 swine flu, reportedly show no signs of fever.

The lack of concern and knowledge by our professionals is unbelievable. I just sent a link to the Oregon Center of Disease Control because they think one has to have a fever to have it. This went to level 6 by the WHO and to a level nothing by the people we are supposed to trust. The symptoms are: stuffy head, tight/sore upper chest, sore throat, deep-long coughing, weakness, short of breath and probably no fever.

OK sister, go blow 2 grand in tests, for everyone who has flu symptoms, now what? Ge wiz you have a virus glad we have a piece a paper to confirm it. I would rather hand out free cans of chunky chicken noodle soup & a case of puffs plus. It would be more useful. H1N1 has not remotely come close to killing as many people as the common flu has in a calendar year. It is a mood point, it has only been sensationalized by the media. It isn't even a strong virus as far as Flu goes. I know about the virus you are describing, all 3 of my kids had it. I wasted $75 in co pays because my wife is paranoid just like you. The quack said cough needs to be around for 4 weeks before we will treat w/ antibiotics. So after 4 weeks they got the meds & hacked for still another 2 weeks.

I'm not talking about a scare tactic. I'm talking about ripping your chest muscles to hell, coughing up a storm!. When you have to hold your elbows tight to your sides and wrap your fore arms around the front to lessen the pain, it's bad. You are such a jerk. IQs are on a decline due to lack of nutrition in our food. I sense you're on a corn chip diet or something of equal nutritional value.
If people want to live in a wild west setting, why do they want to force it on evolving people? Move to WY.

Yep!

Welcome to the real world.

This is only a scare tactic that is working on people like you to support the next speculative bubble.

The Biological Military Industrial Complex.

Continue to throw around your limited vocabulary as you like, it only shows YOUR ignorance.

Here is another tidbit for you, Coos Bay when it comes to disaster relief whether it be Biological, Environmental or Terrorism is the last on the list to receive aide, the bottom of the barrel.

That's about as ignorant a comment possible. So, you think doctors should ignore this man made swine/avian flu and let people spread it unknowingly?
It is not like a cold if you have it bad. It's like having 2 different flues at once. Because of incredibly ignorant people like you, pigs nuts, you may very well get it soon. If you get it bad, you will have learned the only way you know how. The hard way.

Jayson

The sky is falling!

Did you get tested to determine it was H1N1? Are you dead? So what, you have a cold. Even if you did have it you get the same treatment. Rest, take lots of fluids, alternate Tylenol & Motrin for a fever & aches & pains. Antibiotics if the cough lasts longer than 5 weeks.

Waaa!

Why should Doctors run up millions of dollars worth of tests & destroy the local economy by quarantining the city? Not that we have much of an economy.

This is one time the DR.'s did something right. You should be worried if you really get sick. That is the true danger. The majority of the Dr.'s around here are the bottom of the barrel quacks who could not get employed in a large city where the good DR's are making bank.

If I needed a real DR I would let any one of the local veterinarians treat me before I took my chances with DR Kevorkian.

The media, meaning the national press, has beat this puppy into submission. Read the numbers. This flu has around a 99% survival rate. And the percentage of the population infected is a very low number.

This is no epidemic by any terms. In fact, it's a more serious afliction having to listen to this tripe. I would rather GET the flu than have to hear any more about it.

Enough already. Stay home a few days and get over it.

Damn!
