Powers offer weekend full of events

Powers
• Vendors and food booths near Pioneer Park throughout the weekend.
• R.C. Flyers from Powers airport will provide candy throughout the weekend.
• Lions Softball Tourn-ament held all weekend with the Lioness Snack Shack at the ball field.
• Friday kids carnival at Bicentennial Park.
• South Coast String Band 4 p.m. today at Bicentennial Park.
• Little Miss Indepen-dence Contest at 6 tonight Bicentennial Park.
• Street Dance featuring live music by Liddub 8 tonight Bicentennial Park, with live music after dark at local pubs downtown.
• Biscuits and gravy from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Powers Senior Center.
• Parade Saturday, 11 a.m. Line up is at 10 a.m. on Hemlock Street no fee or preregistration required. Prizes for this year's theme Oregon's 150th Birthday. For information call Dawn Padgett at (541) 260-4355.
• Vintage Haulers Car Show 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday. Registration at 9 a.m.
• Horseshoe tournament at noon, Saturday at the Powers Tavern.
• Redneck Games begin at 3 p.m. Saturday Bicentennial Park.
• Fireworks display at dusk at Powers Park.
• Rugrat Redneck Games at noon, Sunday at Bicentennial Park.
• Lawnmower race at 2 p.m. Sunday. Register at the Bicentennial Park.
