Pacific announces top students

Pacific High School's Class of 2009 graduated May 29, 2009.

Valedictorian

Anastasia Newman is graduating with a cumulative GPA of 4.0. Anastasia is the daughter of Mark and Shauna Newman of Port Orford.

She is the president of Future Business Leaders of America and actively involved in National Honor Society. She has been a member of the varsity soccer team as well as played on the junior varsity basketball team.

Ana performs in the Pacific High Honor Choir. She was inducted into the National Honor Choir this year. Ana is very involved in her church with youth activities as well as singing with the worship team. Anastasia will be attending Corban College to study for a degree in business administration.

Salutatorian

Phillip Maddi is graduating with a cumulative GPA of 3.915.

He is the son of Christeen Maddi and Douglas Maddi. Phillip was awarded the highly competitive Ford Family Foundation Scholarship. While attending Pacific High School, Phillip has demonstrated excellent leadership skills. He is currently serving as the ASB president. His participation in sports includes both cross country and basketball. Phillip will be attending Oregon Institute of Technology to study for a degree in engineering.
