Gardiner
A Coos Bay man was injured in a single-vehicle crash Sunday near Gardiner.
At about 6 p.m., a 1974 Ford Bronco, driven by David A. Lindsley, 38, was southbound on U.S. Highway 101 during rainy weather, when a loaded trailer attached to the Bronco began to fishtail as it entered into a right curve north of milepost 202. The Bronco entered into the oncoming northbound lane of traffic and rolled over onto the driver’s side, when Lindsley attempted to maneuver the Bronco back into the southbound lane.
It came to rest in the northbound lane, blocking the lane and part of another. The trailer blocked the northbound lane and the northbound highway shoulder.
Speed was a possible factor, an Oregon State Police press release said.
The Bronco and trailer were towed from the site. Reedsport Police assisted with the investigation, while Reedsport and Gardiner fire departments dealt with traffic control and cleaned up the crash scene.
Further information about the status of Lindsley or his passengers was not unavailable at press time.
