A suspect in a 2006 Coos Bay-area robbery and attempted murder case will return to court Sept. 8.
On Monday, Brian D. Dedeaux, 50, appeared with his court-appointed attorney, Ronald Cox, in Coos County Circuit Court in Coquille for a change plea hearing. The Antioch, Calif., man is charged with attempted murder, first-degree assault, first-degree robbery, felon in possession of a firearm and unauthorized use of a vehicle. According to the District Attorney’s Office, former Bandon resident John Ambrosini was shot in his upper right arm near the shoulder during the home invasion.
The suspect fled the state but was arrested in February on a warrant in Contra Costa County, Calif. Dedeaux returned to Coos County on June 12, after a Dec. 18, 2007, indictment by a Coos County grand jury.
He will remain in the Coos County jail on $500,000 bail until the September hearing, unless security is posted.
