Wreck still moving

Titan Salvage Master Shelby Harris said this morning crews are continuing to work on the New Carissa, even though some big weather is expected to hit later today and Thursday, bringing gusty winds and swells to 13 feet.
The wreck is so far out of the water now that they have to reorganize and reconnect the rigging points for the pulling chains.
“We’re preparing to remove more steel where the old ones were connected,” Harris said.
As far as the weather, there’s no pre-set maximum conditions for doing salvage work.
“We just monitor it,” Harris said. “If we can’t do anything safely, we don’t do it.”
