By Nancy Pelosi closing down Congress and taking a five week PAID vacation it stopped the vote on drilling for oil.
If the Congress would have voted, it would have made aware the positions of the Congressmen/and women that were up for election in Novemeber.

- I believe that you are right about the banking industry, though you failed to mention that many of the worst offenders were loan companies that shouldn't have approved (or offered) those loans and subsequently sold them to other institutions.
- "Brownie" will never be put in charge of Health Care (and neither will the GOP after they are put out of office)
- Saying that "refusing the vote for drilling" is trampling the constitution is a bit ridiculous, isn't it? I must have missed reading that part of the document.

Obama's speech in Germany: If you listened to Obama's speech you would heard him pointing out the importance of NATO (including Germany and others) joining us and committing to that fight as well as other conflicts. The Bush regime is paying Sunni insurgents $800,000 a day not to attack U.S. forces. That's right, 80,000 members of an "Awakening group," the "Sons of Iraq," a newly formed "U.S.-allied security force" consisting of Sunni insurgents, are being paid $10 a day each not to attack U.S. troops.

Iraqis aren't prepared to handle things on their own. The Iraqis don't think they are capable of handling things on their own, which is why they have not asked us to leave immediately. They need us. That isn't analysis, that is simply a recognition of the fact that the Iraqi Defense Force currently conducts very little in the way of logistical operations. The priority has been to build up the IDF so that it can handle the fighting first (so that fewer American troops are in harm's way), and then get them up and running on logistics. That is ongoing. It is not complete. It is not halfway complete. That cannot be countered with facts. The Iraqis are incapable of operating nationwide without the U.S. military.

So out of curiosity I went online and searched Illinois state legislature and came up with www.ilga.gov. I then searched Obama on that site and for each year he was in the legislature was able to pull up the bills he sponsored and how he voted on everything.
