The U.S. Geological Survey reported today that it recorded a 5.1-magnitude earthquake about 254 miles west of Yachats at 10:33 a.m. on Sunday.

Another, smaller, quake was reported later on Sunday at 3:52 p.m. in the same area. It was a minor quake, at a magnitude of 4.4.

Both quakes follow the report of a 3.6-magnitude quake on June 23.

All three were about 6 miles deep, the USGS said, and along the same Juan de Fuca fault line.
