Police arrested a Coos Bay man Wednesday and confiscated one-half pound of crystal methamphetamine and weapons from his Bunker Hill home.
At 10:30 a.m., 24 officers swarmed the blue house at 63754 Harriet Road, armed with a federal narcotics search warrant. They included personnel from the South Coast Interagency Narcotics Team, the Eugene Drug Enforcement Administration, Immigration Customs Enforcement, Coos Bay Police Department, North Bend Police Department, Oregon State Police, Douglas County Interagency Narcotics Team and the Coos County Sheriff’s Office, a SCINT press release said.
SCINT detectives estimated the street value of the meth to be about $16,000. A conviction for possession of that much meth could carry a prison sentence of 15 years, SCINT Detective Toby Floyd said this morning.
Officers also found scales, drug-packaging material, more than $20,000 in U.S. currency and 28 firearms, seven of which various police agencies reported as stolen from around the country.
Officers arrested Eudoro Martinez Medina, 54 on federal distribution of methamphetamine charges. He was taken to the Lane County jail, where he is being held without bail on federal drug charges, although police did not provide the specific charges.
Floyd said the search was a part of a five-year investigation. He expects additional federal indictments as the investigation continues. |
